What Real is

Real is for reflection and personal growth. It is not medical, mental health, legal or financial advice, and it does not promise results.

The tools in Real are practices for noticing, imagining and choosing your next step. They borrow ideas from well known books on mindset and ask you to try them for yourself. What you notice is yours to judge. A practice that shows nothing is a valid result.

If something in the app feels heavy, reach out to a professional or someone you trust. Real is not a crisis service and cannot respond to emergencies.

Your account

You can use Real on one device without an account. To sync across devices, use the Guide or pay for Real Plus you need an account with a working email address and a first name we can greet you by. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be at least 18 to create an account.

Free and paid plans

The Free plan is yours for as long as you like. Real Plus is a subscription billed monthly or yearly through our payment provider. At launch Plus is sold to customers with a billing address in the United States. The price is shown before you pay, with any applicable tax.

A new Plus plan starts with a free trial, 7 days or 30 days when a friend invited you, once per person, and a card is required. When the trial ends your card is charged and the plan renews automatically every month or year at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We email you 3 days before a trial ends.

Cancel anytime in Settings, then Billing. Canceling stops future renewals. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for.

All sales are final. Real does not offer refunds or credits, including for partial periods or unused time, except where the law requires it.

We say this plainly so you can try the Free plan first.

If a payment fails we keep Plus on for 14 days while we retry, then move you to Free. Nothing you made is deleted when a plan ends: it becomes read only and stays yours to export.

We may change prices for new periods. We will tell you by email before a change takes effect on your plan.

Acceptable use

Use Real for yourself. Do not resell access, share your login, copy the app, or use automated tools to pull content out of it. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use, and nothing that is unlawful, hateful or meant to harm another person.

The Guide and the writing helpers use an AI model. The Guide is an AI, not a person. Do not try to make it produce harmful content. We may limit or close an account that misuses the service. Referral rewards follow the program terms.

Your content

Your boards, journal entries, notes, feelings, experiments and goals belong to you. We store them so the app works and so you can sync across devices. We never sell them and we never use them to train models. You can export everything from Settings at any time and delete your account whenever you choose.

By using the Guide you let us send the relevant parts of your text to our AI provider so it can respond. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent.

The books and their authors

Real is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the authors or publishers whose books it credits.

The library and the paths describe ideas from published books in our own words and credit each book plainly. Book titles and author names appear only to tell you where an idea came from. Please buy and read the books for the full teaching. Real does not reproduce their text.

The service

We work to keep Real running and your data safe, but we offer the service as it is. We cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using or being unable to use Real Where the law gives you rights we cannot limit, those rights stand.

Closing your account

You can delete your account from Settings. This removes your profile and every synced record from our servers within thirty days, cancels any active subscription at the end of the paid period, and cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy. Deleting your account does not clear the copy stored in your browser; you can do that from your browser settings.

We may close an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we will tell you why where the law allows.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Real grows. When a change matters we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Continuing to use Real after that means you accept the new terms.
